How to fix your low self-esteem. Dealing with low self-esteem is a problem that a large majority of people go through. I’m going to be honest there was a period that I struggled with it as well.
The first thing you have to do is get out of the downward spiral. Most people think that they are not worth much, because of this people tend not to take care of themselves very well.
Examples of this is not brushing teeth, skipping on showers, dressing poorly, using drugs, and alcohol or eating junk food. This means your not taking care of yourself. If this goes on your going to start feeling worse and worse and look worse and worse.

To get out of this spiral you have to take care of yourself for example, if you have a dirty room then clean your room. If you don’t shower or shave then start doing that. If you use drugs/alcohol or eat junk food start living healthier. It is going to be hard to do all those things. But if you get out of the loop you will see that things will get better and your life will improve.

The reason most of us have low self-esteem is due to the negative thoughts in our heads. For example, a person that constantly says to themselves nobody loves me or I’m worthless.
Because you are listening to the same line over and over again you start to believe it.

One step to overcome this is to start meditating. Meditation is one of the most powerful habits you can add to your life.
Your probably asking yourself how does meditation help with this problem?
It provides you multiple skills to handle your thoughts.
Skill 1. How to recognize your thoughts.
Most of the times we are saying negative things about ourselves we don’t even notice it. When you start to meditate you will realize when your having one of those thoughts.
Skill 2. How to reframe these thoughts.
If you are having a negative thought you can counter it. For example, you have a thought that you’re worthless. You can say, “no I’m not I’m good person I bring something to the table I am very good at __________ and that brings people joy.” This is a very slow process it will take at least two months to rewire how you think. But it will work.
Skill 3. Create your own thoughts.
The more times a thought is repeated in your head the more you will believe it to be true. It is very possible that after you make meditation a habit you can start to pick and choose your own thoughts.
Take, for example if you wake up every day and say to yourself “I am a good person who people like and love.” You will start to believe it. An important thing to remember is the thoughts you choose must be believable.

So if you start to thinking positive thoughts about yourself you will eventually believe you are a good person, and that is how you fix low self-esteem.
